There are two things you can do with the Uniblue Systems-developed application MaxiDisk. First up, you can use the application to defrag your drives; to see if your drives need to be defragmented, you can scan them manually or automatically, based on a schedule. Next up, you can use the application to reclaim some disk space; the application can remove junk files, remove old backups, and find large files that can be compressed.

MaxiDisk can be installed on a PC powered by anything from Windows XP to Windows 8. As expected, a straightforward setup wizard will guide you through the installation process. Pay attention though, because this wizard will want to install some additional software on your PC.

There are four large tabs at the top of the interface:
Overview – disk status, disk info, and LiveUpdate info is displayed here. The Overview tab also invites you to download other Uniblue products and upgrade to Powersuite.
Disk Scan – the application will scan the drive you select and display info here. If a defrag is needed, you can start the defrag process from this tab.
Gain space – scan your machine to identify and remove junk files; scan your PC to find and remove old backups; scan your machine to find large files you can compress.
Manage – access the settings and view system information.

Using MaxiDisk is a simple process: scan a drive to see if it needs to be defragmented; launch and wait for the defrag process to complete. You can launch a scan manually, whenever you want. You can also schedule scans to be performed automatically (weekly, every two weeks, or monthly).

Scan your PC, defrag your drives, identify and remove junk files. That is the wonderful functionality MaxiDisk puts at your disposal.

Installing MaxiDisk on your Windows-powered machine is a simple matter. The application’s interface is user friendly and good looking. Use MaxiDisk to scan and defrag your drives. Use MaxiDisk to scan and remove junk files and old backups. Use MaxiDisk to find large files that can be compressed.

Cons
